چکیده

Abstract In situ observations of pelagic fish and zooplankton with optical instruments usually rely on external light sources. However, artificial may attract or repulse marine organisms, which results in biased measurements. It is often assumed that most organisms do not perceive the red part visible spectrum can be used for underwater measurements biological processes. Using hull-mounted echosounders above an acoustic probe a baited video camera, each equipped sources different colours (white, blue red), we demonstrate Arctic temperate regions strongly avoid light, including (575–700 nm), from lowered water column. The density decreased by up to 99% when exposed distance avoidance varied 23 94 m source, depending colours, irradiance levels and, possibly, species communities. We conclude instruments, cameras, using broad spectral composition 400–700 nm wavelengths capture real state ecosystem they cannot alone reliable abundance estimates behavioural studies.

Red, Green, and Blue LEDs for White Light Illumination

The rapid improvement of the white light efficacy achievable with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) opens up new opportunities in the general illumination market. An LED light source made of red, green, and blue LEDs (RGB-LEDs) can provide the unique feature of color variability, allowing the user to select the desired color point of the lamp. The white light color accuracy required in the general i...

Blue and white light emission from zinc oxide nanoforests

Blue and white light emission is observed when high voltage stress is applied using micrometer-separated tungsten probes across a nanoforest formed of ZnO nanorods. The optical spectrum of the emitted light consistently shows three fine peaks with very high amplitude in the 465-485 nm (blue) range, corresponding to atomic transitions of zinc. Additional peaks with smaller amplitudes in the 330-...

Blue, green, and orange-red emission from polystyrene microbeads for solid-state white-light and multicolor emission.

Solid-state white-light emission was achieved from polystyrene (PS) microbeads incorporated with fluorophores based on perylene bisimide (PBITEG) and oligo(p-phenylenevinylene) (OPV) as acrylic cross-linkers. The PS beads incorporated with only PBITEG gave intense orange-red emission; PS incorporated with OPV exhibited blue-emission, whereas a series of polymers incorporating both cross-linkers...

Simultaneous blue, green, and red emission from diblock copolymer micellar films: a new approach to white-light emission.

White-light emission is achieved from a single layer of diblock copolymer micelles containing green- and red-light-emitting dyes in the separate micellar cores and blue-light-emitting polymer around their periphery, in which fluorescence resonance energy transfer between fluorophores is inhibited due to micelle isolation, resulting in simultaneous emission of these three species.
